This conceptual design for a residential building in the village of Dilove in Transcarpathia is a flexible architectural solution with a dual purpose: it currently provides decent housing for internally displaced persons, and in the future will function as a recreational tourist facility. The main artistic inspiration for the authors was the Ukrainian modernist bus stops of the 1950s – this step is designed to rethink the complex Soviet heritage through a current architectural context. The building is designed according to the principle of a designer and consists of only four elements (metal support, monolithic body of walls and floor, panoramic glazing around the entire perimeter and roof), which guarantees quick and easy installation.

The structural basis of the angled walls is held by a metal frame with an internal filling of SIP panels. The external facades and the entire interior are completely wrapped in concrete slabs with marble chips. The choice of this material is a socio-ecological manifesto: the use of raw materials from a local quarry in the village of Dilove optimizes logistics and is designed to revive local production, providing villagers with jobs. The entrance bridge, as a warm contrast to the concrete, is made of wood available in the region.

The interior space of several square meters is organized according to the principle of logical circular movement around a single multifunctional furniture structure that integrates the kitchen, wardrobes, washing machine and dryer and a convertible bed that hides in a niche, freeing up space for folding chairs. The rational planning of the bathroom allowed to preserve the maximum usable area thanks to the pull-out toilet on a steel swivel frame (designed for a load of up to 270 kg), communications built into the cabinet, as well as a lowering of the floor level with a curtain that prevents water from entering the living area. Thanks to panoramic windows and a thoughtful orientation, the space is filled with natural light, allowing you to observe the full solar cycle from sunrise to sunset.
