HeJi: a journey through times and continents

HeJi is a restaurant located in Vilnius and created by the famous Ukrainian designer Kateryna Mordanova.

The interior of the establishment offers guests a unique journey through times and continents. Its concept combines two great cultural traditions: Eastern and Western. Inspired by the refined art of pan-Asian cuisine, HeJi's interior combines the brilliance of a Michelin restaurant located on the Champs-Elysees and the identity of an authentic chaihan lost among the narrow streets of Guangzhou.

The main materials are natural wood, stone, brass, as well as travertine – a fragile rock similar to marble. Travertine was widely used in ancient times: in particular, it was from it that the Colosseum was built.

HeJi has many unique interior items made to order by designers at the Italian furniture factory Vimercati and in the Ukrainian workshop with the world name C.I.FORM. Every detail in the restaurant is given special attention. The iconic elements of the interior are the balconies, made in the form of giant bird cages; the roof structure, which exactly imitates the traditional Chinese umbrella; as well as the panels that adorn the vestibules — each of them painted by hand and aged using special techniques.
