A home for the main characters of their own story

This interior was created for a young creative couple – people for whom home is not only a place of rest, but also a space of inspiration, observation and self-expression. The profession of the hostess – a photographer played a special role in shaping the concept. Her sensitivity to color, light, composition and details became the starting point for creating an apartment where each space is built almost as a separate frame, but at the same time is part of a holistic visual story.
The interior combines laconic modern forms with expressive vintage motifs: terracotta and olive shades, natural wood, brass details, ornamented tiles, glass blocks, rounded arches and furniture in the spirit of the 50s–70s. Instead of literally quoting the past, we worked with its mood: characteristic colors, rounded shapes, graphics, natural wood.
Color is one of the main tools of composition here. Deep olive, terracotta, muted blue and warm wood tones move from room to room, each time appearing in a new proportion. Saturated color planes are balanced by milky walls, natural textures and plenty of daylight. Thanks to this, the palette remains expressive, but does not overload the space.
Particular attention is paid to the interaction of modern and decorative. Laconic facades are adjacent to classic moldings, ceiling rosettes and ornamental tiles; glass blocks and fluted glass add a light retro mood, while brass accents and rounded furniture silhouettes soften the geometry of the rooms. In the bedroom, a decorative panel with a botanical motif turns the wall behind the headboard into an independent artistic image, while a striped frieze under the ceiling gives the space an unexpected graphicity.
The apartment is planned to be a balance of openness and intimacy. The kitchen, dining room and living room form a common living space, in which the functional areas visually flow into each other. Arched passages, transparent and translucent partitions support this connection, leaving the possibility of delicately separating life scenarios.
This project is about a house as a portrait of its inhabitants: emotional, slightly ironic, open to color and experimentation. There is no desire for stylistic sterility here. On the contrary, different eras, textures and images enter into a dialogue, forming a living space with its own memory and character. A space in which functionality does not contradict creativity, and everyday life itself becomes a source of beautiful shots.
