CLIFF VILLA
NUTRO Studio presents a new concept – CLIFF VILLA, a private villa located on the coast of Turkey. The project, implemented in 2025, is a three-bedroom residence created for a young couple as a place for silence, solitude and connection with nature.
The main idea of the project is to synchronize the architecture with the landscape so that the space does not dominate the rock, but becomes its natural extension. The two-story volume of the villa literally hides under the massif of stone, creating a sense of shelter long before the visitor sees the building itself.
“The approach to the villa unfolds gradually: at first only the rock is revealed, and only later, under its canopy, the architecture, glass planes, and thin lines of the ceilings appear,” says Danylo Goncharenko, art director and co-founder of NUTRO studio.
The facade is built on a dialogue of two textures: vertical pylons made of natural Antolini stone and horizontal planes of ceilings and canopies made of Corten steel. The warm rusty tone of Corten echoes the color of the rock and dry grasses around, and the veins of natural stone enhance the feeling that the building is an extension of the mountain range. The rock itself is integrated not only into the exterior, but also into the interior space, becoming part of the interior.
Light plays a special role in the project. Perforated Corten steel canopies do more than just protect from the southern sun—they transform harsh daylight into soft, moving graphics that change the atmosphere of the space throughout the day.
A significant part of the project is made up of outdoor spaces: a monolithic stone summer kitchen with a built-in grill, a dining terrace under an old olive tree, a sunken lounge area with a fireplace, and a terrace with sun loungers oriented towards the sea horizon. The central accent of the site is a cantilever pool made of Corten steel – an industrial sculpture protruding towards the cliff: the dark surface of the water reflects the sky and rock, blurring the line between architecture and nature.
The landscape composition is completed by dry grasses, olive trees, and metal deer sculptures, which add a subtle surrealism to the space.
